The 7th grade project covers the Elements of Art (line). There are 7 Elements of art and line is the first and most important element. Remember without line shapes and images would be impossible to achieve.
To successfully complete the line project, please read the instructions provided on this blog.
Select a line pattern (attached is a line and pattern sheet). If you are comfortable creating a line pattern of your own, you have that option. Or, you can select one of the patterns on the Pattern/Line sheet provided below.

2. The next step is to create thumbnail sketches of 4 different patterns. Please see the
thumbnail video below before you complete the 4 sketches. The video provides
detailed instructions on thumbnail sketches. Thumbnails are small square normally
2x2, (that you will create). Basically, it’s another way to brainstorm and record
ideas. Submit your thumbnails to my school email address or Google classroom.

3. The final step in the project is to choose your favorite design(s) from your thumbnail
sketches. The patterns that you select will be used to create a Zentangle. Zentangles
are designs that have repented or structured patterns. Here are some examples of
Zentangle patterns and a video that explains the thought process behind creating
patterns.

The final Zentangle should be 5 x 5 in size. If you have any questions, please let me know.
